Olusegun Obasanjo’s established Africa’s first presidential library with the intention to continue to promote and deepen democratic values in the African continent. This book will take the reader through the sites, archaeological grounds from prehistory, the library and museum, and flora and fauna that characterize the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex. Visitors will learn of the history of Nigeria’s political progress through the lens of his life as a farmer, soldier, public servant and elder statesman, and clear the myths and misconceptions concerning the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Presidential Library brings Olusegun Obasanjo’s legacy full circle and stands as an inspiration for citizens and youths—from overcoming a difficult childhood, attaining a successful military career, incarceration for his activism, and his emergence as Nigeria’s elective president. In his post-presidency, he continues to pursue initiatives centred on innovation and social development in Nigeria and Africa, with the purpose of improving citizens’ lives, and encouraging home-grown solutions to Africa’s challenges.
