Jolasun's world came crashing down when several doctors explained why she had lost her child—she had a vagina reconstruction done as a child to correct a third-degree cut of FGM. She mourned the loss for months, refusing to believe that it was anything remotely close to the explanation the doctors provided — “I have been sexually active for a long time and I enjoy sex a lot, so how is that possible?”

“Are you accusing us of having anything to do with your dead child?”
